About the event

"We learn to respond to our emotions from the Survival Brain."

When Kate said these words during the Getting Good at Feeling Bad workshop, I hurried to get them down on paper. What a game changer to recognize that our emotions can trigger our survival response. Feeling sad or lonely or even happy can send us into a fight, flight, freeze, or appease response, leaving us with the inability to examine our triggers, communicate our needs, or connect with others.

In this follow-up session, Kate will teach us about this brain state specifically. Why it turns on (and why we're happy that it does, even if it tends to overreact at times), what reactivity can look like, and how to better support ourselves and others through it.

This is the first step towards expanding our emotional capacity and, eventually, our emotional resiliency.
