Integrative, compassionate, + trauma-informed

As a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I provide individual and couples therapy to residents of Indiana, both in-person and via video. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, which is one of the most widely used and effective treatments for trauma.

My approach to therapy is integrative, holistic, systemic, and trauma-informed. I choose interventions based on clients' needs, backgrounds, and diagnoses, and consider the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual factors at play. Additionally, I believe in looking at all the systems involved in an individual or couple's life - from one's family of origin and extended family to their community, society/culture, and the world at large.

My areas of interest/specialty/passion are as follows:

  • Trauma / religious trauma

  • Attachment

  • Breaking free from patriarchy

  • Embodiment / somatic experiencing work

  • Female sexuality

  • Integration / shadow work

My go-to modalities and interventions include EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, experiential therapy, and somatic experiencing. I also enjoy utilizing meditation and mindfulness with clients.

People come to therapy not so much to fix what is broken but to have what is broken blessed.

James Hillman

I believe that people ultimately change within relationship which is why therapy is such an effective tool for healing, growth, and transformation. But in order for that to happen, there must be safety, trust, and a feeling of unconditional love and acceptance. That is the foundation of my work. My clients feel safe with me because they know that I'm on their side. I encourage them to ask questions of me and I share openly about my own experiences and journey - because as long as I'm helping others heal, I'll be engaging in the work right alongside them. That's my promise.

I've been practicing therapy for over a decade. I trained at one of the top graduate programs in the country. I've attended countless trainings and continuing education workshops, seminars, and classes. And I still believe that my ability to deeply connect with and intuit my clients' needs is my biggest strength as a therapist.

I don't have the answers, in the end. YOU DO. It's my job to help you peel back the layers getting in the way of you listening to and trusting yourself so you can uncover them. You have everything you need already within you. Therapy is a process of shedding what no longer fits so you can embody your full, whole, beautiful self.

One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began,

though the voices around you kept shouting their bad advice -

though the whole house began to tremble and you felt the old tug at your ankles.

"Mend my life!" each voice cried. But you didn't stop. You knew what you had to do...

Little by little, as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds, and there was a new voice,

which you slowly recognized as your own,

that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper into the world,

determined to do the only thing you could do -

determined to save the only life you could save.
