WHAT IS INTUITIVE THERAPY?

Intuitive therapy means that I utilize my own intuition in order to bring deeper awareness to the topic being discussed. In these moments, I am able to access the client's unconscious information and bring it into conscious awareness. Most often, this happens for me through visions or metaphors I receive during session. No, I don't see dead people (though am fascinated by people who do!). What I often see are pictures that flash through my mind or even a word or phrase. When this happens, I ask clients if I can share something that came to me and offer it as potential material for our work together. Most of the time, my clients use the feedback to go even deeper into their own work. Sometimes, it falls flat and we move on!

Regardless of whether I bring these intuitive downloads directly into session, I use my inner wisdom to connect with clients and assess what's going on for them beneath the surface. What's triggering them, causing their reactions, activating their emotions? What's the common thread between what they're experiencing now and what happened to them in the past? What are they saying underneath the words? I also pick up on a client's energy, usually from the moment they walk into the room, and use this to inform our work together as well. Sometimes I'm able to say, "Your energy is different this week, lighter. What's been helping?" Other times, I can point out that a client's energy isn't matching what they're telling me.

Above all, intuitive therapy is collaborative, like all of my therapy work. I imagine a therapy session is like me and a client sitting side-by-side, digging for clues, sweeping away the dirt and debris, and collecting pieces that will help us create a fuller, more integrated and healed self.
